Overview:

Scott Contractors, Inc., located in Norristown, PA, is looking for a site foreman to direct activities for demolition, excavation, storm sewer, sanitary, and water main construction projects. Although Scott Contractors is primarily a heavy/highway and site work construction company, our capabilities expand beyond the limits of a traditional heavy/highway construction company due in large part to our employee’s broad range of experience in the construction industry. Our senior employees have completed projets involving bridgework and marine construction to general construction and site development construction.

Position Title:

Site Foreman

Job Overview:

The Site Foreman is a field management role, responsible for organizing and supervising the safe daily operations of demolition, excavation, storm sewer, sanitary, and water main construction projects. The Foreman will manage the field operations with a focus on safety, compliance, efficiency, and organization. Duties will vary depending on the project that the Site Foreman is assigned.

Job Responsibilities:

• Develop an effective plan to construct the assigned project and determines the means and methods necessary for completion.
• Supervise the daily operations in accordance with job specifications and customer requirements.
• Schedule materials, equipment and work for the crew.
• Monitor progress of crew to ensure satisfactory job completion, keeping construction progress in line with overall project schedule.
• Serve as point of contact with project managers, inspectors, subcontractors and vendors performing work in the field.
• Conduct job hazard analysis.
• Secure work site at the end of each shift to ensure public safety and safety of equipment and materials.
• Enforce safety by modeling behaviors, maintaining a drug free work environment and performing corrective action when appropriate.
• Ability to travel and additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience:

• 3-5 years' of field experience preferred
• Knowledge of construction operations and equipment
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and details in order to complete the project
• Time-management skills
• Ability to multi-task
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• High school diploma
• OSHA certified
• Valid driver’s license
